Plain silver needle of uncertain, probably Post Medieval date, c. AD 1400-1950. The needle has a sub-rectangular cross sectioned eye end which ends in a rounded terminal and then narrows and thins into the round shaft. At the point it ends in a flat end, probably a break as it is neither pointed nor rounded. The needle has a rectangular eye with slightly rounded corners and between the eye and the adjacent end there is a groove down each wide face, continuing the indent of the eye. It is slightly bend with the shaft now curved in several places. The needle is 82.6mm long and 4.2m…

Post Medieval silver penny of Charles I dating to 1632 to 1640. Group D or E. Minted at London. North 2270 or 2272. The coin has been pieced at 2 o'clock on the obverse, 5 o'clock on reverse, near the edge with a circular hole drilled from both sides (raised metal both faces). The position on the obvese avoids the kings head. The coin is also bent but it is not clear if this is deliberate.

Description: A sheet silver thimble made in two pieces, dating from the c. late 17th-early 18th century AD. The thimble has a high domed top and originally slightly sloping sides, now squashed in places. The top was made separately from the body and they were soldered together, this solder has now cracked, and they were detached when found. There are old breaks beyond the cuffs and any further design or inscription is lost. Gilding survives only in the recesses, particularly between the hands. Dimensions: The fragment is now 18.4mm long, it is 6.9mm wide and…
