Post Medieval silver sixpence of William III (1694-1702), dated 1697 on coin, minted at London. Opposing sides of the coin have been bent to give it an S shape in profile, coins modified in this way, especially those worn smooth are thought to be love tokens. The bends have been straightened but it is not clear if this was contemporary or more recent.

Thumb piece or handle from an unidentifed cast silver item of probably 18th century date. The thumb piece is complete with a oval panel connected to a curved rectangular sectioned arm which is in turn connected to a broken hollow attachment which would have linked it to the rest of the item. The oval panel has a moulded, raised bust on each side, it is helmeted and draped, possibly Minerva. The bust is within a line border with stippling in the field between the line and bust. From the base of the oval section projects a small oval shaped flat knop moulded into a face on both sides, o…

Post medieval silver sixpence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), initial mark hand, dated 1591 on coin, North 2015. The coin appears pitted and in places the silver surface seems to have almost peeled away leaving a blacker, base silver centre exposed. This may be the effect of corrosion on a coin naturally surface enriched through striking or may indicate it is a contemporary copy which has been delibreately plated or surface enriched.
