A probably Early Post-Medieval (1500-1600) lead trade weight, circular in shape and measuring 48-9mm in diameter, 1.1mm thick and weighing 207.46g (7.32oz). The weight has slight wear with minor edge knocks. It is stamped centrally with a round-based crown in relief, all within a double circle. The weight is very approximately a half pound avoirdupois but at 8.5% light this attribution is doubtful. See SMMC 3, 127 no.43 for another lead piece of this weight found near Salisbury. There considered by Geoff Egan to be a provincial weight, possibly representing some local standard.

A Post-Medieval coarse glazed earthenware dish, broken by a spade at the time of recoverey and susequently restored. Lorraine Mepham, Wessex Archaeology, comments 'These coarse glaxed earthenwares are tricky to date more closely, but my best guess would be no earlier than 18th century, though it could be as late as 20th century. The source is likely to be fairly local, possibly Ashton Keynes ware.'
