Complete toy gridiron with fish, made from a lead/tin alloy (pewter) with a patina which is shiny in patches. The gridiron is basically rectangular but slightly trapezoidal, flaring from the handle end; it has six bars of equal thickness and triangular cross-section parallel to the handle, and a similar transverse bar to either end. The longer transverse bar has a backwards-curving hook to either end, one now crushed. The shorter transverse bar, at the handle end, is decorated with oblique ribbing giving a cabled effect. Rose/orb jetton in reasonably good condition. The jetton is very slightly dished so that on the reverse the central motif is on the outside of the curve and is therefore worn. The inscriptions are very clear. Hanns Krauwinckel II, working 1586-1635; reverse inscription, HEIT ROTT MORGEN DOTT (Today red (i.e. healthy) tomorrow dead).

Body sherd from a large storage jar, made from Glazed Red Earthenware. It has a band of impressed crescent decoration, similar to that on Jennings 1981 no. 1258, but running the other way; the points of the crescents are to the left. Part of a groove above the band of crescents also survives. It weighs 115.82g. Glazed Red Earthenware is the typical East Anglian pottery type of the 16th to 18th centuries, when similar storage jars would have been found in nearly every house in the region. This example probably dates to the 17th century.

Lead-alloy button, circular with a flat head 20 mm in diameter. The front has bevelled edges around a slightly raised border; within the border are traces of a worn relief design, perhaps a profile bust. On the reverse is a broken loop and a casting flash. Buttons made from lead alloy are common in the 17th century, but they tend to have convex fronts and to be more highly decorated.

Double-looped buckle frame made from copper alloy, both loops identical. They are oval with slightly widened outer edges which are decorated with alternating wide and narrow concave mouldings. The edge is shaped so that it is indented along the wide mouldings and projecting at the narrow mouldings, giving a scalloped effect. Each one is oval with a pointed outer edge which contains a grooved pin rest with a blob to either side; there is a third blob at the end of the pin rest. The bar extends onto the frame as a moulding, and retains a copper-alloy pin. The buckle is angled about the central bar. This buckle dates to the 16th century, but the decoration resembles a mid to late Anglo-Saxon animal head. Ring made from plaited silver wire. Each strand of the plait basically consists of six wires, although in places due to the ending of various strands this drops to five or four. The wires in each strand are neatly parallel. The sides of the ring are not straight; they are C-shaped in cross-section, with the exterior of the ring convex and the interior concave. Sword-belt fitting, consisting of a sub-triangular plate with hook holding a ring, both of copper alloy. The plate is 32 mm long in total, has two rounded lobes at the 12 mm wide top, and is curved in cross-section. It has a central iron rivet, and it is just possible that the shape of the top is due to it breaking across a second rivet hole. Pottery disc, 24 mm in diameter and 5 mm thick, perhaps a counter or playing piece. One face has a large incuse letter D, with VIII in smaller lettering below. The fabric is a fine red earthenware with ferrous inclusions; this type of fabric could have been made almost anywhere in England, so gives little help in identification. The inscription could be deciphered as eight pennyweight, but in fact the disc weighs 4.47g, which is 2.87 dwt. Probably post-medieval.

Small earthenware pot. It is c. 75 mm high and has a base diameter of 38 mm, flaring to a cordon two-thirds of the way up (diameter here 64 mm) and then curving inwards again to the rim (diameter 29 mm). The fabric is brown-black and sandy with occasional granitic inclusions (gold mica and felspar) and small black pieces. Possibly an inkwell or paint pot; possibly 'art pottery' of the early 20th century, or a Spanish or Portuguese import of uncertain (but probably post-medieval) date.
