A post-medieval copper-alloy buckle with separate pin and stud chape surviving intact. The frame of the buckle is symmetrical, comprising two roughly 'D-shaped' sides which curve downwards either side of the axis bar in profile. At the centre of the two horizontal sides of the frame there are two opposing, 'bow-shaped' mouldings. A corroded and incomplete cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame of post-medieval date (c. AD 1550-1650). Half of the frame has been lost as a result of old damage; the pin is also missing. The frame is rounded at the front and largely flat at the rear apart from concave recesses behind the knops. The surviving loop is oval in plan. Its outside edge has a pointed knop at its centre; any decoration it might have had has been lost to corrosion. The central bar is thinned and triangular in cross-section. A post-medieval copper-alloy coin weight for a unite of Charles I. The obverse depicts a crowned bust facing left surrounded by the CAROLVS . . REX ., and the reverse is a crown above . XX . // . S .. The coin weight is 18.9mm in diameter, 3.8mm thick and weighs 121.6 grains (7.87g). There is a 6 o'clock die axis relationship between the obverse and reverse.
The coin weight is 13% light compared to its official weight of 140.5 grains (Withers and Withers 1995, 13; ref. XXs e). The coin was issued between AD 1633 and 1649.
