Cast copper alloy strap fitting of probable post-medieval date (1500-1700). The strap fitting / belt mount is circular in plan and domed in profile. The front face is convex whilst the reverse is concave. The edges of the fitting are bevelled and mostly lost through abrasion. The front face has been decorated with a small nipple / nub at the centre of the raised boss, this is encircled by a single annulet / ring. The reverse face of the fitting is concave with two cast sub-rectangular projections (hooks) positioned on either edge of the fitting. These hooks would pass through the strap…

Cast copper alloy ring of probable Roman - Modern date (50 - 1800). The ring is circular in plan and lentoid (hexagonal) in cross section. There are traces of irregular file marks on several surfaces. There is no obvious cast or incised decoration present. A slight thickening of the ring is present on one edge - this maybe remains of a casting jet. The ring is a dark - mid greenish grey colour with a well developed patina which covers all surfaces. The patination of the metal would suggest a Medieval or later date. The function of the ring is varied (sacking ring, curtain ring etc) and…

Gold posy ring. A flat band, dented, the exterior with floral decoration incorporating two birds flanking a heart, with traces of white enamel for the birds, and white and green for the floral ornament. The inscription inside in lower case retains much of its original black enamel and reads: 'This and I until I dye', with partly legible unidentified maker mark, possibly SY. The motif and birds flanking a heart was popular in the 18th century, and in the absence of an identifiable maker's mark there is no evidence to date this ring pre-1708.

The fabric varies across the sherds but is predominately a mid yellow buff colour similar to that seen in Staffordshire Slipware vessels. All the sherds are relatively fresh with crisp broken edges. Almost all the surfaces are glazed in a shiny black colour; the consistency of the glaze is relatively thin and evenly applied. Not enough survives of any sherd to suggest overall size or function.
