Silver half-groat of Charles I struck at the Exeter mint in 1644.
The coin has been pierced from the obverse through to the reverse with a square punch. The piecing is positioned at 8 o'clock on the obverse; it is possible the reverse was meant to be seen although the central large rose would be slightly a-tilt when the hole is aligned at 12 o'clock
