Worn Post medieval copper alloy square double-sided coin weight dating from the early post-medieval period, between c. AD1550-1600. The front face is stamped with the upper body of a crowned king facing with head turned to right within in a double circular border. Th eking is holding a sword in his left hand (as viewed) and an orb surmounted by a cross in his right. Beneath the king are three lines. Cast copper alloy weight of probable late medieval or post-medieval date (1450 - 1550). The weight is a relatively small size being circular in plan and rectangular in section. The front has a series of turned concentric circles positioned around a central hollow point; all of these concentric circles are regular and well formed. Cast copper alloy double looped (spectacle) buckle of probably medieval or post-medieval date (1350-1650). The buckle frame is complete - in plan it is sub-rectangular (broadly a figure of eight) with a slight integral cast central bar to which a pin is attached. The pin is formed from a length of copper alloy which is wrapped around the mid-point of the central bar. There is no evidence for a recessed pin-rest on the frame. A silver two Albus piece struck in Cologne 1685 folded into three to form a 'love token'

Albus - Plural ALBUSES. Small Rhenish GROSCHEN first struck by Archbishop Kuno of Trier in 1362. Initially 96 ALBUS were minted from one Cologne MARK of fine silver and the coin was valued at 20 to the GOLDGULDEN (1386), but by the 16th century it had become a billion coin worth 1/32 THALER. In Cologne the depreciation was even worse. There, by the 17th century, the ALBUS was equal only to 1/74 THALER.

A cast lead alloy button probably dating from the later post medieval period or early modern period (1600-1750). The button is circular in plan and domed (D shaped). The head is solid and cast in one piece. The front face is not decorated. The rear of the button has a single integrally cast projection / shank (diameter: 3.2mm) which is broken close to the back (it projects 1.2mm). The button is a mid grey colour with an abraded patina and slightly corroded surface. A direct parallel has not been found.

A silver shilling of Elizabeth I, initial Mark: Bell (1582-1583).
The obverse has been defaced; the word VICE has been cut into the coin using a knife point. The letter C is formed from small straight lines giving is an angular profile. Above and below the word are diagonal cut marks - possibly deliberate. The defacing of the coin is likely to have occured after a period of use, as obverse and reverse is worn; although the obverse may have been deliberately scuffed to obliterate the portrait. Silver sixpence of Elizabeth I, struck either in 1580 or 1589. The date above the shield on the reverse is unclear, teh last number may be either a 9 or 6. It is most likely to be a 9 as the reverse initial mark seems most likely to be a crescent (date mark for 1587-9) and the initial mark on the obverse could be a hand (1590-1592).

Body sherd of a salt-glazed stoneware jug of post medieval date (1500-1700). The fabric is most likely to be from the production site at Frechen, Germany. The fabric is a hard almost plastic stoneware which is mica rich. The fabric is a reduced mid grey colour with an iron rich brown surface which is mottled by the salt glaze. This form of vessel is often known as 'Bellarmine' jugs and bottles. The fabric is a hard earthenware: it has well sorted sparse grit-like inclusions. The fabric is a mid grey colour with oxidised orange interior / exterior surfaces. The fabric is a hard earthenware: it is mica rich, having well sorted sparse grit-like inclusions.
