An incomplete clay pipe (smoking) of early to mid seventeenth century AD dating (AD 1620 to AD 1660). Most of the bowl survives, but the rim is incomplete. The bowl is slightly bulbous and curves upwards at an angle of 45 degrees. A circular foot is present with a maker's mark depicting the initials HH within a beaded border. Only a small part of the stem survives. It measures 57.2 mm in length, 27.0 mm tall and the bowl has a maximum diameter of 19.2 mm. The stem has a diameter of 9.3 mm and the bore hole has an internal diameter of 2.4 mm. The foot measures 11.5 mm long by 11.3 mm.…

The hoop is wide at the front of the ring, and then gradually tapers down to a narrow band at the back. No obvious shoulders are present. A probable incomplete lead alloy artefact of uncertain function, but probably of Post Medieval dating (AD 1700 to AD 1900). It is of a pointed oval shape. Although it looks like it is a two part artefact with one side fitting inside the other, it has been cast in one piece. Foliate decoration around the outside. Circular knops are on either side and the top crosses over and then splits into two separate prongs, with the ends incomplete. It measures 89.1 mm in length, 65.2 mm wide and 7.4 mm thick. It weighs 83.2 g. It is a light to dark grey colour, with an uneven surface patina.
