An enamelled gold barrel-shaped link of late 18th to early 19th Century dating. This gold link bears traces of blue, green and white enamel forming a pattern of white dots in the centre flanked by a blue band and a wreath in green. On examination at the British Museum, no evidence was found to date this link pre-1704. It is a characteristic type of the late 18th or early 19th century. The assemblage, as submitted for investigation, numbers eight pieces. The link was purportedly broken in the process of removing the assemblage from the ground and is presently stored separately. ~~A gold composite jewellery fitting. The back plate is formed by an oval sheet with a twisted rope like border. Three circular sectioned wire loops are present on either side. These have been soldered to a collar made from a strip of gold, set at right angles, running around the inside of the rope border. This collar would have secured the original gem in place. The intaglio was possibly engraved but due to damage caused by movement in the plough soil, any engraving is hard to determine. A complete hand made twisted gold wire, probable finger ring, of uncertain dating. The probable finger ring has been made from two lengths of gold wire twisted together. The ends have been solded together. Due to post depositional pressure, the finger ring is no longer circular, but more ovoid (egg) shaped.
