Description: An enamelled gold pendant of four parts (obverse, reverse, two removable pins), link, suspension link in the form of a hand (with pin) and chain. The assemblage, as submitted for investigation, numbers eight pieces. The link was purportedly broken in the process of removing the assemblage from the ground and is presently stored separately. The link has been made from a piece of gold wire with a circular cross section. It has a diameter of 1.5 mm. A complete gold and rock crystal finger ring, of Post Medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD1700). The finger ring has a distorted hoop of 'D-shaped' section, widening from the back to the bezel. Each shoulder is decorated by three longitudinal V shaped grooves, the outer ones bend inwards just above a short horizontal groove. A short longitudinal groove is present just below this line. A complete silver, probable dress hook, of probable Post medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD 1700). The probable dress hook has a basic domed triangular shape, with half spheres located at each point. A second much smaller domed triangle is positioned centrally on the base or flat side of the first, and then the base extends into a rectangular eye. This eye measures 4.6 mm wide, internally it measures 2.8 mm wide by 1.4 mm long. The half spheres have a diameter of 3.7 mm. The reverse of the dress hook is hollow and concave. A complete silver die stamped cufflink element of 17th Century dating. The cufflink element (one quarter of a pair of cuff links) consists of a single disc or cufflink elements, with a concave reverse. The disc is circular in shape, with bevelled edges. An incomplete silver thimble, of probable Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD 1700). The incomplete thimble consists of part of the inscribed band at the base of the thimble and part of the pits above. The rest is missing. The fragment of the band appears to have part of a foliate decoration present. The pits are circular in shape, and aligned both horizontally and diagonally. The reverse is undecorated. The fragment measures 8.0 mm in length, 6.1 mm wide and 0.4 mm thick. It weighs 0.1 g. The fragment is a mid to dark grey colour, with an even surface patina.

The seal matrix is of the pedestal or pendant type, with an oval die. The pedestal has five facets and tapers to a two banded collar. No orientation marks are present on the base of the pedestal. The bodking exhibits an acute 25 degree bend, located around the mid point of the bodkin, resulting in it being folded almost in half. Five of the coins are from the issues of Charles II, four guineas, which will be of the 22 carat 'crown gold' standard and one shilling, which will be of the sterling standard, over 90% fine metal.
