Obverse: Crowned head, with neck ruff. facing left. Rose present behind the head.

Initial mark: Pheon
Reverse: Square shield with long cross fourchee dividing the legend. Shield bears three fleur de lys in top right corner, three lions in top left corner, three lions in bottom right corner and three fleur de lys in bottom left corner. Date of 1562 is present above the shield.

A silver sixpence of Elizabeth I, minted in 1568 with coronet mintmark. The last digit of the date (8) has been struck using a broken punch, which means it looks similar to a 3.
The coin has been folded into an elongated S shape as probable reuse as a love token.
It has a diameter of 26.00mm, and is 1.20mm thick. Due to the folds present, the coin has a height of 5.05mm. It weighs 2.5 grams.
