A complete cast copper alloy square coin weight for a Spur Ryal, of the revalued 2nd coinage issue, between AD 1612 and AD 1619 during the reign of James I (AD 1603 to AD 1625). The coin weight is square in plan. It is possible to read 'XI' on one side, with possibly a crown above it. It measures 16.64 mm in length, 16.38 mm wide and 3.66 mm thick. It weighs 6.4 g. The coin weight is a mid brown colour, with an even surface patina.
