Copper alloy buckle. Cast sub-rectangular frame of rounded to lentoid section with a rounded slightly expanded and thinned outer edge and a strap bar set back from the frame. A cast and collared pin is looped round the strap bar; its mid-part is crazed and corroded. The frame bears extensive traces of a thick black coating resembling a stove enamel while the pin bears white metal plating. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900

A round cast buckle plate of thickness 1.4mm with a narrower sub-triangular back part is folded round the strap bar and was secured on the strap [lost] by three domed rivets of head diameter 2.6mm with pointed ends.
