A worn and possibly slightly clipped post-medieval silver groat of Philip of Spain and Mary Tudor, AD 1554-1558. The obverse image is extremely worn with the reverse being worn but not quite as badly as the obverse. Two or three long irregular cracks jag across the centre of the coin. The coin remains in one piece despite the inner most ends of the cracks extending to the same point across the flan of the coin but are set part side by side by approximately three mm rather than joining together resulting in the coin breaking into two or more parts.
