A complete copper alloy pipe tamper in the form of an upright hand grasping a cylindrical object with flared end (probably a scroll) The hand has long moulded fingers wrapped around the bar and a thumb and hollowed palm below. The bar flares to each end, terminanting in a flat, circular face. The ends of the bar are decorated, one end with a single circumferetnial groove, theopposite ned with two.
