A complete Palaeolithic flint sub-cordate handaxe dating to the period c. 500,000 BC-c. 150,000 BC.
This implement is asymmetrical (sub-triangular) in plan, lozengiform in side view and pointed oval in cross-section. It has a reversed S-shape profile. From the rounded tip, the sides flare outwards and downwards and then converge to the butt. It has been bi-facially flaked overall except where there is a small area of cortex at the butt end of the ventral face.
