A Middle Palaeolithic Levallois flake
The flake is struck with a hard hammer on a piece of pale grey flint that is developing a yellow patina over areas of its surface. The flake has a plain striking platform and there are traces of cortex surviving on the dorsal surface. The flake edges are abraded, rolled and slightly chipped.
