A Lower Palaeolithic small, bifacial worked, flint handaxe of cordate type dating c. 400,000-150,000BC. The handaxe was found on in a quarry. There is invasive soft hammer flaking covering both faces. The butt and mid portion of the axe is thick and it then tapers to a rounded point. The cross section is lentoid (pointed oval). The flint has an orange patina.
Similar examples include: DOR-CAC6C5, KENT-F9E88B, SUR-85BDCC.

A group of Palaeolithic worked flint dating from middle Palaeolithic 250000 - 40000 BC. The flints have an all over white patination probably the result of laying in chalky soil, some have patches of orange-brown iron staining.
