Late Neolithic to early Bronze Age grey brown flint thumbnail scraper fabricated from a tertiary flake. The scraping edge has been formed with semi-invasive, sub-parallel, semi-abrubt removals along the curved edge. A small gouge or burin has also been fashioned on one of the 'corners' of the flake. Dates to between c2700 to c1600 BC. Length 30mm, width 22mm, thickness 3.5mm, weight 4.80g.

Neolithic to Bronze Age chert scraper and two possible burins on a tertiary flake. Semi-abrupt sub-parallel retouch to the longest edge to form the scraping edge. At the ends of the working edges there are small angled removals that appear intentional. These result in what appear to be burins or gouges on the respective corners. There are removals to the ventral and dorsal faces that allow the tool to be held more comfortably. Suggested date range c4000 to c1000 AD. Length 29mm, width 20mm, weight 4.16g.

Neolithic patinated tertiary grey flint end scraper. The scraper is on the distal end and there are two stages of sub-parallel abrupt retouch, short on semi-invasive, and some damage from crushing. Dates from c4000 to c2350 BC. The length is 21mm, width 13mm, thickness 5mm, and the weight is 1.42g.

Late Neolithic to early Bronze Age flint 'horseshoe' scraper. The scraper is circular with one straight edge in plan, and fabricated on a white patinated tertiary flake. The ccraper has been formed on the rounded distal end while the proximal end is the straight edge. There are three principle phases of working. In the first it has been roughed out with a series of invasive removals to the dorsal. The second phase consisted of shaping the distal edge with a series of long scaled semi abrupt removals. The final phase consists or short, sub-parallel, abrupt retouch on the working edge. …

Early to mid Neolithic side scraper on a secondary flake of dark grey chert. Short, parallel to sub-parallel, semi-abrupt retouch to both mesals. The distal end has been shaped with an invasive intial removal terminating in a hinged fracture. It has then had very short sub-parallel, semi-abrupt retouch. There has been a reduction to the dorsal ridge. Cortex retained at proximal end, probably to aid grip. Dates to between c4000 and c2700 BC. Length 24mm, width 15mm, thickness 7mm, mass 2.86g

Early to mid Neolithic side scraper on a tertiary flake of grey chert. On one mesal two notches have been removed from near the distal end then the whole ventral edge has received short, parallel to sub-parallel, semi-abrupt retouch The resultant edge probably served three purposes, as a serrated blade, a notched scraper, and as a side scraper if the proximal end was favoured. The other mesal is 7.5mm thick. On its dorsal edge it has short, abrupt, sub-parallel retouch to the whole edge. The ventral edge has a series of scaled semi-invasive removals overlaid with short, abrupt, sub-pa…

Early Neolithic to early Bronze Age banded pale pink rhyolite blade with an end scraper and probable side scrapers. There has been attempt to reduce one of the ridges. One face is polished by wear, providing clues as to how it was initially used, ie as a side scraper. The mesal edges have occasional retouch, mostly short, parallel, low angled. The end scraper has been produced by short to medium, scaled & crossed abrubt to semi abrupt retouch. The striking platform has been removed with a single flake and the edges of the scar retouched (medium, sub parallel, low angle). The rhyolite …

Mid Neolithic to mid Bronze Age chert D shaped scraper. It is roughly semi-circular in plan, sub rectangular in profile, and a pointed sub oval in section. The scraper has been formed on a tertiary piece of black 'Marles' chert. The fully invasive primary working has been retouched, short, semi abrupt to abrupt, sub-parallel to random, on most edges. Dates to between c3500 and c1000 BC. The length is 25mm, width 15mm, thickness 8mm, and the weight 4.8g.

Early Neolithic to early Bronze Age flint end scraper and knife. It has been fashioned on a mid grey flint secondary flake. There is short to semi-invasive, sub parallel, acute retouch to one median edge, producing an effective knife. Its use would have been aided by the cortex being retained on the majority of the other median, allowing pressure to be applied when cutting without the risk of injury. The distal end has been retouched (short, semi-abrupt, sub parallel) into an end scraper that has been retouched more than once. There is a retained fossil at the proximal end. Dates to b…

Late Neolithic to late Bronze Age D shaped flint scraper manufactured on previously worked flint. Struck from a tertiary flake, it has a patinated white exterior with mid grey core. The flint was probably originally upper Paleolithic to early Mesolithic debitage or a broken tool, subsequently reworked, probably during the Bronze Age, but possibly in the late Neolithic. At least two phases of retouching are evident so it may well have been reused twice. Final use as a tool dates to between c2700 and c1600 BC. Length is 41mm, width 48mm, depth 12mm, and the weight 29.4g.

Mesolithic to early Bronze Age worked white quartz or quartzite scraper. Its overall plan is D shaped, with the straight edge being the working edge. Due to the nature of it crystal structure, this material is hard to date from its working. As it bears a similarity to a D shaped scraper, it would be reasonable to assume that its most likely date of manufacture was late Neolithic to early Bronze Age. Dating to between c7000 to c1601 BC, probably to between c2700 and c1601 BC. The length is 10mm, width 10mm, and the thickness 5mm.

A Neolithic or Bronze Age sub circular white flint 'pot lid' with cortex over the entire dorsal (natural) surface, and spots of iron staining on the ventral face. Modified to perform as a scraper by flaking, and retouching, along the entire edge. The straight edge has been created by a one large removal and then retouched. Probably Neolithic or Bronze Age (c3500 to c800 BC) but impossible to date accurately. Modified natural 'pot lids' would have made an expedient 'quick fix' tool in an emergency. The retouches on this one suggest it was kept for further use. The length is 20mm,…

The apex of the dorsal bulge has been reduced with one large removal, another natural 'pot lid'.
