Late Neolithic to early Bronze Age axe head roughout made from a tertiary flake of a Lakeland tuff. The tuff is similar to, but coarser grained than Langdale tuff. The roughout is thick-butted, double convex in section, sub-rectangular in plan, has crudely sub-rounded ends, and expands in plan from both the butt and the blade end to reach its maximum width 68mm from the blade end.
