A complete though probably unfinished stone axehead probably a roughout of Neolithic date, c. 3500 - 2100 BC discovered below the foundations of a cottage garden wall. The axehead is possibly of the Graig Lwyd Group VII axe - the patina looks the type and the white speckles on a blue-grey matrix is typical of the rock type or it could be an epidiotised greenstone Group VI Langdale axe. A flint thumb-nail scraper of very late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age date c.2400-2100 BC. The flint is sub-rounded save for the striking platform edge. It has has short scaled abrupt retouch around the entirety of the rounded edges. The ventral face has been heavily rework to flatten the bulb of percussion with long invasive low angled retouch. Almost all the striking appears to be with heavy hammer technology. The scraper is a limid reddish yellow with mottling possibly from being exposed. Smooth stone probably dating to the later prehistoric period 3500 to 800BC. Probably quartzite and is sub-oval in plan, lenticular in profile and in section. It may have been used as a hammerstones which are hard cobbles used to strike lithic flakes during the process of lithic reduction or crushing minerals. It may also be a rubbing stone used in the manufacture of hide or within a saddle quern to grind grain. The length is 150mm, the width is 140mm and the weight too heavy for scales.

Late Mesolithic-early Neolithic chert debitage dating between 8300-2100BC.There is no bulb of percussion or striking platform evident, they have possibly been worked away due to the small size of the lithic. There is a small amount of evidence to suggest that the ventral end has evidence of ripples from the strike and shows a small amount of working along the edges. The ventral shows evidence of rippling from the strike, it also shows evidence of two blades being removed. The proximal end shows evidence of working into a point. The ventral has evidence of ripples from the strike and the proximal possibly shows signs of the bulb snapping whilst being worked. Axe rough out of probable later Neolithic date (2500-2100 BC). The length is 170mm, width 55mm and thickness 45mm. The axe is knapped from a light blueish/grey buff volcanic tuff. This axe is, like many of the larger and finished (polished) Langdale axes, sub-rectangular plan with distinctive humped faces. The axe fragment has been damaged in several areas (old and fresh damage). Complete 'D' shaped scraper knapped from grey black flint and dating from the late Neolithic period 2500-2100BC, possibly a Riley Type 5 (Bond, C. Plate 5.112 and 5.113). The scraper is complete, made from a short, round flake with retouch along the total distal and halfway up the two mesial edges. Both the ventral and dorsal faces are very smooth with even ripple marks. Scrapers could have many uses from scraping the fat off animal skins, to scraping the bark off arrow shafts. The length is 42mm, width 34mm, thickness 6mm and the weight is 14.21g.
