An incomplete Neolithic flint axehead. It is elongated with straight sides and rounded ends, the cutting end wider than the butt end. Both faces are convex and covered with small flaking scars. The surface around these scars has been highly polished and they are positioned at different levels to one another, suggesting that most are original features of the object rather than accidental damage. Inwards curving notches have been removed on one face just behind the butt end from either side, perhaps to aid hafting. There is some damage to one side of the cutting edge. The flint is milky grey in colour with orange staining in places on both faces.

A complete flint scraper of Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. It is triangular in shape with a pointed distal end and straight proximal side. The dorsal face is convex and the ventral face flat. Formed on a secondary flake with a small amount of chalky cortex surviving on the dorsal face. There is a small amount of very crude, scaled, short, semi-abrupt retouch along all of the sides. It has a slight patina, which is heavier in places. There are a few small flakes that have removed the patination, but this is probably later damage. The flint is brown in colour.

A complete flint early Neolithic leaf-shaped arrowhead. It is formed from a secondary flake with a very small amount of cortex attached to one face at the distal end. It is large in size, roughly ovoid in shape and pointed oval in cross-section. An incomplete Neolithic flint flaked and polished axehead. It is roughly ovoid in shape, becoming narrower towards the butt end, and strongly plano-convex in cross section. Both faces have multiple scaled flaking scars running in different directions. These are still visible in several places, although their upper edges and the surface surrounding them has been polished. A small amount of pebble cortex survives in the centre of each face. Both faces are highly polished at the cutting end producing a cutting edge that remains fairly sharp. There is an abrupt break across the butt end, which does not appear deliberate. The flint is an opaque mid-grey-brown colour with veins of different colours running through it. There is a thick milky white patina covering the outer edge of both faces and a small amount of orange staining in places.

A fragment of a Neolithic flint polished axehead. It is roughly rectangular in shape and plano-convex in cross section. The outer face has small flaking scars in several places, but the area surrounding these has been smoothly polished, producing an almost flat surface. There is a rough, stepped break to one end, presumably the result of the impact that fractured the flake from the rest of the axe. The reverse face is covered with multiple scaled flaking scars running in different directions - possibly representing an attempt to sharpen the edges for re-use. The flint is a light, opaque, mottled grey colour with a small amount of orange staining in places.
The original polished axe would have been of Neolithic date, but the retouch and reuse could have occurred as late as the early Bronze Age. Other similar examples have been recorded on the PAS database, including SF-42B8C0, SF-8DABF7 & SF-904B71 from Suffolk.

Acomplete flint core of probable Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. It is roughly semi-circular in shape with cortex still covering the ventral face. There is no obvious butt and bult of percussion, suggesting that it was formed on a natural fragment of flint. The dorsal face is highly convex with small, narrow flaking scars running inwards from the centre. It appears to be too crude to have been used as a scraper and instead seems to have been a core from which small flakes were produced. Its crude form suggests a Neolithic or more probably an early Bronze Age date.

A Neolithic polished (and reworked) flint axehead. It is roughly triangular in shape and plano-convex in cross section. It expands slightly towards the blade end, which curves outwards and there is an abrupt break across the narrow butt end. Around 60% of each face features the original polished surface, but there is scaled, invasive, low-angle retouch along each side and a few smaller removals across the blade end, suggesting that the axe was modified at some point to allow further use - perhaps after it was damaged. The flint is light grey in colour, but the surface is heavily patinated and covered with dark orange staining.
The original polished axe would have been of Neolithic date, but the retouch and reuse could have occurred as late as the early Bronze Age. Numerous similar examples have been recorded on the PAS database (e.g. SF-42B8C0, SF-8DABF7 & SF-904B71 from Suffolk) suggesting that the axes were so prized that reuse was common.

A complete flint flake with later reworking of probably Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. It is roughly oval in shape and triangular in cross-section. There are a series of small flaking scars on both faces, which are covered with thick white patination. This patination has been removed in a few places around the edges, particularly around the distal end of the dorsal face where there is a small patch of abrupt, sub-parallel, long retouch to the right side. The butt is narrow and the bulb of percussion has been removed. The flint beneath the patination is light grey in colour.

An incomplete flint Mesolithic to Neolithic blade. There are two long, narrow flaking scars on the dorsal face and an abrupt break across the distal end. There is no obvious retouch. The butt is broad and the bulb of percussion fairly diffuse. The flint is a speckled light grey colour with limited patination.

A complete Mesolithic to early Bronze Age flake. A secondary flake with a few small patches of cortex on the dorsal face. It is roughly rectangular in shape with three narrow flaking scars on the dorsal face. No obvious retouch. The butt is missing, but the ripple lines appear fairly diffuse. The flint is a speckled light to mid-grey in colour with slight patination.
