An incomplete Neolithic polished flint handaxe. It is long and roughly oval in shape, but expanding slightly towards the blade end, and plano-convex in cross section with a slightly higher central ridge on one face. There is a small amount of invasive, scaled, low angle retouch along the sides and a chunk is missing from one side of the blade end. This break is heavily patinated suggesting that it occurred prior to deposition and possibly as a result of use. A Neolithic polished (and reworked) flint axehead. It is roughly triangular in shape and plano-convex in cross section. It expands slightly towards the blade end, which curves outwards and there is an abrupt break across the narrow butt end. Around 60% of each face features the original polished surface, but there is scaled, invasive, low-angle retouch along each side and a few smaller removals across the blade end, suggesting that the axe was modified at some point to allow further use - perhaps after it was damaged.
