An incomplete flint scraper of probable Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. A long, narrow tertiary flake with an abrupt transverse break across the centre as a result of which the proximal end is now missing. The flint is a light brown colour with heavy orange staining on both faces. There is long, semi-abrupt, scaled retouch across the left edge of the distal end of the dorsal face. This retouch is slightly less stained suggesting it may be a later addition to an older flake. There is no staining within the central break suggesting it is a recent occurrence. A complete flint rounded scraper of probable Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. Created on a secondary flake with pebble cortex covering c.70% of the dorsal face. It is ovoid in shape with crude, long, scaled, abrupt to semi-abrupt retouch along the curved distal end and about 50% of each side of the dorsal face. There is additional invasive, scaled, low angle retouch along both sides of the ventral face removing the bulb of percussion and meeting to create a rounded point at the proximal end. The flint is a mottled mid-grey colour with light patination. This form of scraper is r…

A complete flint scraper of Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. It is triangular in shape with a pointed distal end and straight proximal side. The dorsal face is convex and the ventral face flat. Formed on a secondary flake with a small amount of chalky cortex surviving on the dorsal face. There is a small amount of very crude, scaled, short, semi-abrupt retouch along all of the sides. It has a slight patina, which is heavier in places. There are a few small flakes that have removed the patination, but this is probably later damage. The flint is brown in colour. Length: 45.02mm, w…

A crude flint scraper of Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. A sub-triangular secondary flake with a small amount of cortex remaining on the dorsal face. The flake reaches a prominent, blunt point to the left of the distal end of the dorsal face, which has been sharpened with small amounts of short, abrupt, scaled retouch to either side.  A large flake has also been removed to either side of the left edge of the ventral face, leaving a short, blunt projection between, perhaps for use as an awl or borer. Prominent bulb of percussion, striking platform mostly missing. The flint…

A complete flint scraper of Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. A roughly D-shaped flattened tertiary flake. Short, scaled, abrupt retouch along the curved distal edge and right edge of the dorsal face. A small amount of further short, scaled, low angle retouch along the right edge of the ventral face has removed the cortex here suggesting that it took place at a stage much later than the initial maufacture.
