Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A flint flake of probably Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. Tertiary flake. It is roughly triangular in shape, with a pointed distal end and rounded proximal end. The bulb of percussion appears to have been deliberately removed via a few small flakes. There are no obvious signs of further retouch. Length: 38.64mm, width: 21.13, thickness: 6.42mm, weight: 5.43g

Object type: BORER
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A complete flint possible borer or awl of probable Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. It is roughly triangular in shape, forming a sharp point at the distal end. It has a small, prominent bulb on the ventral face that has been partially removed with a few small flakes. There are three long, thin flaking scars on the dorsal face and evidence of occasional crude retouch along both sides and the proximal end. The flint is grey-brown in colour with milky white patches and has a shiny patina. Length: 29.23mm, width: 14.28mm, thickess: 3.44mm, weight: 1.41g

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A complete flint probable Neolithic or early Bronze Age flake. It is a secondary flake with coarse pebble cortex remaining at the distal end of the dorsal face. There is a central ridge running the length of the centre of the dorsal face with flaking scars to either side. There is a prominant, small bulb of percussion on the ventral face with a narrow platform at the proximal end. There is perhaps a small amount of retouch along the left side of the dorsal face, but further working is limited. Length: 51.24mm, width: 40.13mm, thickness: 10.69mm, weight: 23.10g

Object type: ARROWHEAD
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
An incomplete Neolithic flint leaf-shaped arrowhead. It is roughly oval in form, but with a straight break across the distal end. It is not clear whether this was deliberate or not. The dorsal face is covered with long, invasive, parallel scaled retouch. There is a small amount of short scaled retouch around the outside of the ventral face only. The flint is brown-grey in colour with lighter milky patches in places. This form of arrowhead is typical of the earlier Neolithic. Length: 33.86mm, width: 16.86mm, thickness: 4.15mm, weight: 2.77g

Object type: BLADE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Cambridgeshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A complete Mesolithic to Neolithic flint blade. It is long and narrow with three longitudinal flaking scars on the dorsal face. All surfaces are fully patinated and this extends across a break at the distal end suggesting that this occurred before deposition. There is a small semi-circular notch to the right side of the distal end, which potentially appears to be deliberate, but has removed patination suggesting that it occurred much later than the original production. There are no other signs of retouch. Length: 72.55mm, width: 22.77mm, thickness: 5.15mm, weight: 10.59g

Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A complete flint (probable) Neolithic to early Bronze Age flint implement. It is pentagonal in shape with a long, pointed left side, which appears to have been formed deliberately via the removal of a flake on each side. The object may therefore have functioned as an awl or borer of some kind, but as there is little other evidence of retouch it is difficult to offer a formal identification. Several small flakes have been removed from each face and from the right edge of the dorsal face. It is mid-grey in colour with an unusually shiny patina. Length: 61.87mm, width: 39.84mm, thickn…
