Record ID: BERK-FB8E6D
Object type: ARROWHEAD
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Buckinghamshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A complete flint expedient transverse arrowhead dating to the Late Neolithic period, c. 2700-2350 BC. The flint is roughly worked with minimal removals and basically no retouch along the lateral edges, however there is retouch at the tip of the point. The arrowhead has suffered from post-depositional damage, probably as a result of modern agricultural activity.

Object type: SCRAPER (TOOL)
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Buckinghamshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A flint scraper dating to the Neolithic period, c. 4000-2350 BC. The scraper has been made on a flake and could be described as a 'thumbnail' scraper due to its size. There is no bulb or platform retained. Invasive soft-hammer retouch is visible around both laterals and the distal end, however there is none on the proximal end. All retouching is limited to the dorsal surface. The scraper has been burnt, after it was formed. There are two 'pot-lids', or spools that fracture and pop off under extreme conditons, such as heating or freezing. These pot lids break through the patina of the …

Object type: DEBITAGE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Buckinghamshire

A broken flint flake in a semi-translucent brown flint. The flake is broadly rectangular in plan with quite straight edges; one edge appears to be broken so this may be part of a larger object such as a blade, or indeed a larger flake. There is no retouch visible. The remains of a hinge fracture can be seen on the ventral surface. General prehistoric date but probably late Mesolithic or Neolithic in origin.

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A piece of probable flint debitage in a semi-translucent light brown flint. The flake is broadly triangular in plan with uneven removals and scars over its dorsal surface.
