Neolithic flint axe, 129mm long, 59mm wide and 27mm thick, with a weight of 218g. The axe is complete and is sub rectangular in form, with a rounded blade and ovoid in cross section. It is made from a dark brown flint and has been invasively re-touched and then polished at the blade. It has been finely worked along its blade and on one face of one side with shallow, stepped re touch. The other side less so and appears to have been damaged along this edge due to a weakness in the flint?

Neolithic or Bronze age ceramic vessel sherd, 51mm long, 38mm wide and 12mm thick with a weight of 29.29g. A body sherd with large, irregular calcite inclusions in an earthy, uneven body. It varies in colour from a cream/buff inner surface, brown/beige body to an orange outer surface. It is decorated with two sets of parallel depressions interrupted by at least one transverse pair of depressions. Possibly late late Neolithic to early Bronze age grooved ware?

The axe is mostly complete, missing its hafted end, but has also sustained a lot of damage aroud its edges. It is sub rectangular in form and eliptical in cross section. It has a pronounced rounded step just before it drops down to form a blade on one face. It has no obvious facets and is a dark grey/brown, suggesting Charnwood slate.
