A possible knapped flint or chert tool. In section the tool is triangular and in plan it is sub-rectangular. The distal terminal is missing, and this break is not recent. The dorsal surface has two vertical negative scars with a triangular scar at the proximal surface. The ventral surface has a bulb of percussion, with bulbar scars, ripples and the tool has a striking platform. The tool is knapped from a mottled red brown and beige coloured flint or chert. The tool weighs 8.5g. It measures 29.98mm from the upper to the lower edge and 25.48mm wide.
If this is a tool, it is likely to…

A knapped flint flake, possibly a tool. In plan the flake is linear with one terminal forming a point. The other terminal is broken, therefore the bulb of percussion on the ventral surface is missing, but the concentric rings are missing. In section the object is triangular and then trapezoidal. The dorsal surface has negative vertical scars, and some possible re-touching along the edges of the point. The flint is a dark grey/brown colour and is slightly opaque. It measures 31.82mm long and 15.72mm wide. It weighs 1.8g.
The flakes is probably prehistoric, probably dating to the N…

Phil Watson (Principal Curator, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery) identified the object being a possible Neolithic pointed tool dating to -3500 to -2100. The flake has been knapped from a light mottled grey coloured flint.
The tool is a sub-rectangular in plan with the lower edge tapering to form a blunt point. The tool is a sub-triangle in section. The edges are slightly abraded, rather than knapped. It measures 35.84mm long and 15.11mm wide. It weighs 3.76g.

The item appears to be a combination of tools that has been knapped from a mottled grey coloured flint. The tools appear to be a point/awl and a semi-circular shaped blade edge. The tool probably dates to the Neolithic period.
In plan the tool is a sub trapezoidal shape in plan. The striking platform forms the upper narrow edge. One side edge has been re-touched forming the curvilinear blade edge. How effective this edge may be as a blade is not certain as the blade is steeply angled towards the edge. The opposite side of the tool has an elongated lower corner, possibly forming…
