A flint thumb nail scraper probably dating from the Beaker period, about 2400 - 2200 BC. It is an oval secondary flake formed on speckled grey flint with cortex on both sides. The right side and distal end has invasive, scaled, semi-abrupt retouch and previous removal scars cover the dorsal face. It is 17.9mm long, 20.2mm wide and 5.1mm thick. 1.9g.

The implement has been ground from a well-consolidated quartzitic red sandstone, which does not occur naturally in the area (pers comm Robert Masheder).
