A flint knife probably dating from the Neolithic period, about 4000 BC - 2200 BC. It is formed on a tertiary flake of translucent dark brown flint. The flake is sub-recatngular with a convex right side and a pointed distal end. The right side has short, low-angle, sub-parallel retouch from both faces forming the cutting edge. The left side is backed with short, abrupt, sub-parallel retouch from both faces. The knife is 42mm long, 24.3mm wide and 6.8mm thick. 6.32g.

A flint scraper probably dating from the Neolithic period (4000 BC - 2200 BC). The scraper is formed on a tertiary flake of dark grey flint. It is roughly a quarter circle in plan and is thick and D shaped in section. There is long, sub-parallel, abrupt retouch on the distal and left sides, and short, scaled, abrupt retouch on the right side. There is a small area of patination on the dorsal face. The scraper is 36.5mm long, 32.7mm wide and 13.3mm thick. 20.06g.

A flint Neolithic knife. It is formed on dark grey flint. The distal end is snapped, there is invasive retouch on the proximal right side. There is also retouch on the left side which is very fine and applied from the ventral face. There is a small circular hole on the dorsal face which is remarkable in having a tiny pillar of flint remaining in the centre. This is almost certainly natural, perhaps the work of marine organisms.

A neolithic flint denticulated knife. It is made on a blade of opaque milky grey flint which is not patinated. There is retouch on the ends from the dorsal face and invasive working from the ventral face, particularly on the left side where a notch has been formed. This is the denticulate or tooth that worked like the teeth on a saw. The rectangular blade is triangular in section.

A flint flake of probably Neolithic date. It is a secondary flake of opaque buff grey flint with cortex on half of the dorsal face. There is evidence of platform preparation, but the large notch is natural damage and though there is edge damage, the flint is not retouched, so it is just a debitage flake.

A Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age flint scraper dating from 2500 BC - 1500 BC. It is formed on a tertiary flake of dark grey opaque flint. There is abrupt retouch on the distal end and sides, but the edges are also damaged. It is poor quality work, which may suggest a Bronze Age date.

A Neolithic flint tool; a retouched blade which has been utilised for cutting. The flint is sub rectangular with abundant retouch on both sides and the distal end. The retouch is semi-abrupt. The blade has a double dorsal ridge which gives it extra strength. The distal end may have been used as a scraper, the edges were used for cutting, but the object is not a knife as there is no retouch on the ventral face. Denticulates have also been knapped on the left side which would allow the flint to be used for heavy duty cutting. These may have been a later addition. This multi purpose tool…
