An assemblage of five struck flint flakes of late Neolithic or early Bronze Age date. Three worked flakes and two unworked, all of dark grey flint. (Images L to R: 1-5) 1. Blade flake with small areas of short stepped retouch on both the ventral and dorsal faces, along both the left and right edges. The edges are also damaged with accidental removals and a large scar on the right dorsal face.  4.17g. Object type: RETOUCHED FLAKE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Hampshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A worked flint flake possibly dating from the Neolithic. This is a secondary flake with blade removal scars on the dorsal face and a small patch of cortex on the right side distal dorsal. The left edge of the dorsal face has semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral face terminates in a hinge fracture. The beige stone has small white patches on the right side, which suggests weathering. Length: 41mm Width (max): 23mm. Width (at striking platform): 14mm. Thickness (at striking platform): 4mm. Thickness (hinge fracture): 13mm. Weight: 9g

A near-complete Neolithic flaked and polished axehead of cream-grey flint. The blade on the dorsal retains areas of small removals or retouch, while the blade on the ventral face has a large modern removal probably caused by mechanical damage during its discovery. Similar to YORYM-EABA53

Record ID: HAMP-8E98DA
Object type: AXEHEAD
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Hampshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A complete probable Neolithic flaked axe head of cream-coloured flint or chert with some iron staining. There are several patches of cortex on one face. The profile is asymmetrical, being convex curved on one face, and the other face higher and angled. It is very similar in shape to DOR-3F1ECB. While similar in profile to a tranchet axe it appears to be more finely worked along one edge and therefore likely to be Neolithic.
