A Neolithic ground and polished axehead. The implement has been extensively chipped and ground into a long elongated sub-oval shape in plan. The blade edge has a curved forward edge that has been ground and polished to form the cutting edge. From either side of the blade, the sides gently narrow to the rounded butt which is rounded with a pitted appearance probably where this section was not polished.
