Polished stone axe head. Neolithic 117mm length, 69mm wide, 37 thick. The style of the axehead conforms to Manbys’ class 4D (Manby 1979 66-67). Oval section, rounded cutting edge which tapers down to a thin butt. Large amount of flaking scars on the sides on the last quarters of the butt and over the dorsel and ventral faces. The blade (first quarter of the axe) has been finely ground and polished, removing nearly all of the flaking scars.
