A Neolithic ground and polished axehead. The implement has been extensively chipped and ground into a long elongated sub-oval shape in plan. The blade edge has a curved forward edge that has been ground and polished to form the cutting edge. From either side of the blade, the sides gently narrow to the rounded butt which is rounded with a pitted appearance probably where this section was not polished. The stone is a dark green colour with creamy speckles. The axe dates from between circa 3500 BC to 2100BC

The blade on the forward edge has been ground into an asymmetrical crescent, this is also the only section to have been polished. The stone is a dark green with an extensive creamy mottling. The axe dates from between circa 3500 BC to 2100BC

Polished stone axe fragment, length 31mm, width 39mm, thickness 20mm. This is a corner edge from the mid section of an axe, the corner has a rounded edge and is angled at about 120 degrees with both of the remaining edges being polished to a smooth finish. The stone has a orangish/brown colour with lighter mottling, the breaks are old. That object dates to the Neolithic. This is part of an assemblage that consists of; 1 Early Mesolithic blade.
