Polished stone axe head length 75mm, width 69mm, thickness 37mm. This is a very short and squat axehead. The blade is very thick giving the feel more of a blunt mace head rather than a sharp cutting blade for and axe. The sides are very steep and rounded. From the blades the edges gently narrow to the butt, which is rounded. Dark brown stone with darker green patches. Date Neolithic. Dr Kevin Leahy expresses some concern about this being an axehead as it lacks both symmetry and any sign of a cutting edge.
