An incomplete polished flint axehead of Neolithic date, c. 4000-2350 BC. The axehead is bi-convex and has a sub-rectangular profile and a pointed oval section. It has a smooth ground surface and a tapered ground curvilinear cutting edge. The axehead terminates at a blunt break part-way along its length. The break bears traces of the same cream discolouration as the outer surfaces, suggesting that the break is old. A complete knapped lithic implement of early Neolithic date, c.4,000 - 2,200 BC. The implement is a flint thumbnail scraper, designed to be held between the thumb and forefinger, formed from a secondary flake which D-shaped in plan and section. The ventral surface is smooth with a bulb of percussion and cracking ripples visible. The dorsal surface exhibits covering scaled removals which are low-angle in the centre and variously semi-abrupt and abrupt at the edges.
