Neolithic to Bronze Age blade dating to the period c. 4000 - 701 BC. Tertiary flake, the bulb of percussion is missing due to a transverse break. Five dorsal scars from previous flake removal. No visible retouch. Mottled grey flint with some coarse, lighter inclusions.

There is fine scaled semi-abrult retouch to the distal end. Fien retouch to distal end on dorsal face. Lithic implement. The flint is a semi-translucent light grey-brown.

It exhibits semi-abrupt semi-invastive sub-parallel retouch extending from the distal end to approximately halfway along one mesal edge. The flint is dark grey with occasional light grey inclusions.

Incomplete flint Neolithic polished axehead. The axehead can be classified as a Butler and Holgate Type C thick-butted axehead with faceted sides. It has been extensively ground and polished across all faces, removing most of the original flake scars. The blade end is missing due to old damage. The edge has been crushed and there is evidence of deliberate flake removal. At the butt end there also appears to be deliberate evidence of flake removal and there is evidence of crushing and pecking, possibly indicating secondary reuse.
