An Early to Middle Neolithic knife knapped from a mid-brown coloured flint dating to circa 4000 - 3500 BC. The flint object is D shaped in plan and is knapped from a secondary flake. The dorsal face has been re-worked on the straight edge from the proximal to distal end. The retouch is long, stepped and semi-abrupt. The opposing long edge has cortex present covering 50% that would have enabled the flint to be handled and used as a knife. The other 50% of the long edge has a 'backed edge' with abrupt retouch.
