A complete rectangular flat-cylindrical cast lead-alloy object with rounded copper alloy insertion possibly for a loop. This object is possibly a home made weight probably relatively modern in date, 19th-20th century. The lead weight is flat in cross-section with a flat base and flattish top. Lead weights are common finds, but only rarely from excavated contexts which is why date and origin are difficult to pinpoint. The length is 40mm, width 22mm, thickness 12mm and weight is 158.80g.
