A copper-alloy penny token of the Tunstead Incorporation, dated on the token to 1812 AD. This token was issued by the Tunstead and Happing House of Industry (workhouse) as a workhouse token during a period when there was a shortage of copper-alloy coinage for use as payment to buy basic commodities.
Obverse: PAYABLE AT THE CORPORATION HOUSE, A wheatsheaf.
Reverse: TUNSTEAD & HAPPING.1812., surrounding a central legend reading ONE/PENNY/TOKEN

Obverse: HAVERHILL MANUFACTORY, A man weaving in a loom.
Reverse: PRO BONO PUBLICO 1794, A cypher IF within an oval, a wolf head crest above.
The edge of the coin has a legend reading PAYABLE AT IOHN FINCHAMS SUFFOLK
