Modern coin: Ottoman coin. The date of the coin is probably Hijra year 1255= 1839. This would make it a coin of Sultan Abdu Mejod, who ruled from 1255-1277/ 1839-1861 - Identified by Vesta Curtis. Since recording Paul Cannon has kindly further identified the coin and comments... "This would appear to be a worn copper coin of the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Mejid. The Arabic of the obverse translates as "4/struck/in/Egypt(Cairo)/1255". From its size and weight it is no doubt a 5 para coin. It was struck in the 4th year of his reign ie AH 1259 (equivalent to AD 1843)".

A cast, lead alloy, zoomorphic toy fragment in the shape of a frog. It is probably from a 'clicker'. It is fragmentary and broken into two pieces which is in the form of a moulded frog (viewed from above). A very close parallel, LVPL-F0E3E6, was identified by Jim Halliday as part of a clicking toy. It lacks the lower, springy steel sheet. Pressing this would made the device give a clicking sound, which probably imitated the croaking sound of a frog or toad. It is Post-medieval or modern in date, probably 19th early 20th century. Other exact parallel was found at Hintl…
