A copper-alloy Victory medal of the First World War. The medal was awarded to Sgt Charles William Baggaley of the Lincolnshire Regiment. Obverse: Winged, full-length, full-front, figure of 'Victory' with her left arm extended and holding a palm branch in her right hand Reverse: THE GREAT / WAR FOR / CIVILISATION / 1914-1919' in four lines, all surrounded by a laurel wreath Edge: 201032 SJT C.W.BAGGALEY LINC R[ ] Records show that this medal was authorised on the 30th May 1921.

A coin issued by the British West Africa states. The coin - possibly a penny - has a hole in the centre, and is of a type that circulated in the British colonies of Gambia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and the Gold Coast (Ghana). The coin appears to be made of alluminium - one of several mediums in which such coins were struck. The obverse depicts a six-sided star or hexagram, around which is the legend BRITISH WEST AFRICA 1940. The reverse has been filed clean apart from the Crown, but would have contained the legend EDWARDVS VIII REX ET IND: IMP:, surrounding the legend ONE TENTH OF A PEN…
