A complete but worn Bishop chess piece dating to the late 19th century or 20th century. The chess piece is cast out of plaster of Paris or crushed stone, and was probably dipped in resin. The surface has a mottled white matrix comprising irregular, frequent grains of a solid cream coloured substance. The chess piece has fine cracks all over, as well as holes in the base caused by air bubbles during the casting process. The perimeter of the base is also chipped as would be expected with a moulded piece.
