A lead two-part cloth or bag seal probably dating from AD 1700 - 1900. Originally it had two circular discs joined by a tab, but only one now survives. The surviving disc has an integral oval tab which was pushed through a circular hole in the other disc before the seal was stamped. Part of an impressed deisgn is visible on the oval tab, in the form of raised, obliquely crossing lines. The complete disc is marked with scratched cursive writing which may read: (J)obb & / Ste(rl), but the letter forms are not clear. The seal measures 20.6mm long, 18.5mm wide and 4.4mm thick. 5.3g.

There are also two numbers: "36" which have been crudely inscribed with a sharp tool. The other face has a square end and carries an impression in relief of three lines of small, rectangular cartouches each containing a letter or number that read: [-]45//…

A circular, lead-alloy seal. It is 20.2mm in diameter and 7.5mm thick. The remains of the ferrous wire used to fasten the seal protruds from one edge, which increases the length to 26.5mm and iron corrosion can also be see in the middle of the seal, between the two lead alloy discs. It weighs 16.75gm. The front of the seal is stamped with a crown over an upward pointing arrow and a "T" which in turn are above a number "6". A similar seal with an iron wire attached is LIN-A8A236. Interestingly, this also has an upward pointing arrow marked on it, though this time alongside WD for War D…
