An incomplete horn handle of a scale tang knife or cutlery implemenent, of post-medieval or mordern date. The handle remains only as one side or 'scale' of the handle which, along with its counterpart would have sandwiched the tang of the knife or fork and then fastened together with rivets through each of the seven holes along its length. Four broken rivets remain. The scale is sub-rectangular in plan and roughly semi-circular in cross-section with a flat top. The full length of the scale remains.
