The bowl of a very late Post-medieval or modern (AD 1822- c.1950) clay, fired mould made short 'cutty' type pipe in the form of a buffalo's head issued by the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes. Description:The fragment survives as the bow of a pipe snapped shortly along the stem behind the bowl. The detail of the buffalo's head is picked out in relief, with wavy lines representing the buffalo's fur. A modern reproduction of a German First World War 2nd class Eiserne Kreuz or 'Iron Cross' medal, probably of tin or light pewter. Orignals date 1914-1918, this example dating uncertain but likely post WWI to the present day. The medal takes the form of a Teutonic Cross or 'cross pattée', with two silver rims, the internal one raised creating a rim encompassing a large black internal cross. An incomplete horn handle of a scale tang knife or cutlery implemenent, of post-medieval or mordern date. The handle remains only as one side or 'scale' of the handle which, along with its counterpart would have sandwiched the tang of the knife or fork and then fastened together with rivets through each of the seven holes along its length. Four broken rivets remain. The scale is sub-rectangular in plan and roughly semi-circular in cross-section with a flat top. The full length of the scale remains.
