Cast solid disc or wheel with a thin outer rim with faint fine radial lines and with a small central pit, possibly from a toy motor car with a tyred wheel or spare wheel represented. Patinated. The character Noddy, a creation of 1950s children’s author Enid Blyton, drove a yellow car which would be equipped with wheels like this. Lead alloy possible spoon. A small lead alloy spoon with concavo-convex leaf-shaped bowl and a possibly rolled sheet metal stem, partly melted. Probably from a table cruet; the metal retains a grey tint pointing to its recent date. Though initially appearing like a dribble of solidified lead melt, the form of bowl and stem are retained where the fabric is un-melted and is harder than unalloyed lead. Lead alloy coin. A probably modern forgery of a late Iron Age coin whose details would appear to be drawn from the uninscribed gold coinages of the Corieltauvi. It does not resemble the silver units of that tribe. Some examples have been found with a coating of gold paint, perhaps here lost to erosion in a coastal find-spot. The distribution of these objects appears to be skewed towards sites frequented by metal detectorists, and these may represent the ‘salting’ of sites by rival collectors, whether in jest or malice.
