A fragment of Mesolithic flint blade, dating to c.AD 7000 - 2500 BC. The blade is made from a secondary flake of mid brown flint, the patination has mottled to a a pale brown on the outer edges. A small area of cortex remains it has a creamy patination. Small areas of retouch are visible along the edge. Length: 25.6 mm, Width: 17.8 mm, Thickness: 4.3 mm, Weight: 2.09 g

A complete Mesolithic flint implement, dating to c. 8000 BC - 4000 BC. The implement has been made from a secondary flake, 20% of the dorsal face is covered with an area of cream/brown cortex. The convex side is covered with narrow removal scars struck from each platform, the opposing flatter side has a large area of thick pale brown coloured cortex. The flint is dark brown. Three flint tools, found as part of a debitage of 23 pieces for in a 50m x 50m area. 1.  A waisted tool fashioned from a flake of brown flint, possibly dating to the Neolithic period c 4000BC - 2500BC (Butler C 2005 p133). A grey flint blade fragment. A flake with two long parallel bladelets struck from its dorsal side and a flat rippled ventral surface, presenting a flat trapezoid section. Very fine serrations, run along one long edge. A negative hinge fracture appears at the narrower end and the broader end is recently broken. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC Length: 27.4mm, Width: 14.4mm, Thickness: 3.6mm, Weight: 1.5gms  The item is one of 23 pieces of flint found in a 50m x 50m area.
