Prehistoric antler from either a large Cervus species, or an Elk (Alces alces). The antler's bud measures 65mm x 65mm, and does not appear large enough to be from an Irish elk (Megaloceros giganteus). The breaks on the antler have occurred post deposition. There are no blade marks on the antler so it may have died of natural causes. There are few signs of abrasion so it is unlikely to have moved far from its original deposition site. Late Mesolithic to early Neolithic secondary honey flint multi platform core with some fine retouch. The presence of residual chalk on the cortex indicates the flint is derived from a 'mined' source. It also shows that the original nodule was imported into the area in its raw state with the cortex largely intact. The paucity of good quality flint in the area is probably why the core has been worked outward toward the cortex. Mesolithic to mid Bronze Age quartzite perforated implement made by modifying a natural quartzite pebble by drilling an hour glass mounting hole.
